24th June 2006

its saturday. yippeeeee one might say. but no! saturdays mean nothing different to me. my routine is the same. wake up at 6, go for walk, come back at 745, sit on comp getting hungrier by the second, eat by 845, bum around, head off to aerobics at 915, back at 1115, lounge. and saturday maketh no change. cept Herself is home and more people want the car. no not really. Herself is home and not paying attention to me.

all the heyer im re-reading reminds me of school when besfren and i used to dream about which heyer hero was for us. hers was sylvester. funny since her husband is not a whit like him. hehehehe. now sylvester was always too abrasive for me, but i wldnt have minded the nonesuch or the corinthian, being, as they are, figures of intelligence and humour. but now ive realised i might just have to pick freddy standen! the man is a dream! always knows what to do. no scinitllating conversation or deep philosophical theories or deeds of great courage, but dammit he has the hack when you need it and rememebers the special licence!

23rd June 2006

seem to be blocked lately. dont seem to need the babble to the cyberworld. or something.

its rainig. the most beauitufl day. misty rain. all morning. and yay! my room isnt leaking.

horrorscope:
You may be feeling plumb worn out today, dear Cancer. This isn't only due to too much work or too little sleep. It's largely a question of unclear priorities leaving you frazzled and unfocused. The planets are trying to make you change how you allocate your energy. It could be that you are directing your energy in the wrong areas. Think about what's really important to you. Consider reworking your priorities.

scary. very scary. what do i want? i think i know. what im directing energy to might not be the solution though. dont you hate it when yahoo throws you a googly?

Goa

Well
Rule number one: dont go to goa with someone who doesn't want your company
Rule number two: especially dont go to goa with someone who will not be honest with you
Rule number three: especially especially dont go to goa alone with persons who fall foul of rules one and two.

As i stood outside the excise checkpost this morning at 6am and watched the guard smash my beloved bottle of rose wine against a tree cos i wasnt going to pay his exorbitant bribe, i figured it was a most fitting end to the trip. beautiful, chock full of the potential of intoxication and phenomoenal fun, but shattered by the unecessary pig-headedness of one person.

hehehe waxing poetic aint i? photos will be uploaded to fotoblog as and when blogger permits. well, im kinda used to making bad decisions about people, bad choices about what to hold on to and what to do. so its all good. Not-So-Dear-Anymore Friend seemed to have had fun, since after all the whole im-on-this-trip-solo mindset was his to start with, i got to see goa, drink a lot of port wine, get stoned wiht random strangers in a beachside cafe, take over 200 photographs, read two books and listent ot he sea for four days.

didj'all miss me? *grin*

12th June 2006

Cigs: 3
Drinks: 1.5
Binges: teensy bit of white choc and popcorn
Reading: otherwise engaged [cant rem name its some chicklitt thing], these old shades - heyer, delusions of grandma - carrie fisher. eon fo these years ill post the list of all else i have read and not posted.

Profound observation of the day: slightly burnt popcorn tastes onion-y

Profoundly disturbing question of the day: why can microwave popcorn never come out right for me? either burnt, or half unpopped, or like today, both.

Quote of the day: "Youcan't touch another man's Enfield" *slight revolted shudder*

Strange fact of the day: my method of picking teams to support seems to be a damn sight more effective than the i-support-the-underdogs-cos-they-Deserve-to-win method. HAH!

Off to goa tomorrow. yay! with Other Dear Friend A. :) some of you might remember a trip to vizag in september last year. well we've got the beach, we've got us, we've got bus journey. whats new this time? 4 nights, a motorcycle and my bad back. :D

11th June 2006

Cigs: 8
Drinks: 5
Binges: misture. damn you She, you shlda taken it with you!

its been a while innit? the madness of She's visit is slowly fading. a stunning success, there wasnt a single snarl, forget about a fight. am proud of both of us. hehehe. Herself also making conscious efforts to not pick sides.

so muhc sport around even MinCat watches it now. last night went to easy rider with Dear Friend A, just back from Umreeka. apart from how fabulous it is to have one of those DFs wiht whom interaction ahs been restricted ton online-ness actually around in person, he is also oldest friend period. so we randopmly went out. bitched about respective families, drank a little, marvelled at how everytime we spoke a few sentences we'd miss a saved goal in the trinidad and sweden match, and came home. i didnt have to drive! one of those evenings i dont want to tamper with by trying to describe in present state of extreme inarticulacy. suffice to say i went to sleep wiht a smile on my face, and woke up with a bigger one. tho that cld have been cos got to be lazy lie-abed and ge tup only at 930 as opposed to now normal 6am.

poopoos were bathed yest morning, to their extreme horror. are being the most adorable watchdogs. sleep on doorstep and wuff at everyone. awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

currently in very bad state of indecision because stupid fifa site hasnt uploaded fotos of all teams yet and i cant decide which teams to suport in what order!!!! so far theres england with adonis beckham, who counts as 2, and michael owens; theres spain wiht casillas and raul, theres argentina with 2 cutie men, and brazil has one. however, until i see all squads i cannot reahc an informed decision! then there are naturla prejudices, dont want to support the white colonisers, but spain!!! sigh. so hard this is!

Haku-Suku Reloaded

The babes are growing. this morning conversation with Herself was interrupted by some serious wuffing. The irnoning man had come to collect clothes. and they poopoos were up in arms. awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. They have come a long way.

Their antics never cease to amuse and aggravate us, from Suku who will NOT stop shitting on the septic tank to Halku who will NOT walk unless she wants to.

The other night i heard a caterwaul and in my paranoia that one of the feral cats thats roams about here had attacked what are, after all, puppies, i went down to check on them, only to find that Madam Suku, upon whom the outside world exercises an irresistible thrall, had wiggled her way under the gate, no mean feat, but in doing so managed to have the bolt fall down and through her collar and then twist it and so was slowly choking to death.
Last night had a nice little ballet with them running out while the car was being backed out and us bumbling about in the dark looking for 2 black puppies at night. their latest trick is running straight AT the car when it comes in, no amount of honking revving or flashing of lights will deter them. when i got home this morning i parked outside, went in, tied em up before i could pull in.

Their adoration for the cook knows no bounds for she feeds them in the morning, and lets them eat immediately unlike evil and cruel Herself and MinCat, doesnt make them sit, hold them back and only after about 30 seconds let them AT the food. However they do sit on demand. its most effective. yell SIT! and plonk. sometimes they sit because they know they'll be petted once they do, and its a better way of getting guaranteed affection than leaping on us.

the most amazing thing is Hisself's delight in their antics.
